A kaftan hangs from the shoulder with no waist to fight you, which is why it is what goes on at home, at a naming ceremony, or on any Accra afternoon that has decided to be hot. Most of ours come out of Egypt and Turkey. We film every one of them moving, because a kaftan photographed flat tells you nothing at all about how it falls.
